A group picture of participants for stakeholders’ workshop organized by NEMC on knowledge sharing regarding waterfront (coastal/marine and freshwater) development. The workshop was held on 12th -13th October, 2016, at the National Museum of Tanzania in Dar es Salaam. It was opened by Hon. January Makamba (MP), Minister of State, Vice President's Office - Union and Environment (sitting at the center). Attendees of the workshop included Prof. Salome Misana who is the Chairperson of NEMC Board (sitting immediately at the left hand side of the minister) and Eng. Bonaventure Baya, the Director General of NEMC (immediately standing behind the minister).

The specific objectives of the workshop included sharing knowledge on various issues on waterfront development for coastal and freshwater; agreeing on best way of carrying out waterfront development activities within the existing legal requirements and establishing of framework for cooperation and collaboration among stakeholders during and after review process of Environmental Management Act (EMA) 2004.
